Education Outreach Programs

Each year the Westchester Philharmonic offers schools from all over Westchester County an opportunity to participate in two exciting programs geared towards elementary school aged children. Our education programs provides the opportunity to hear, see, and enjoy live music while offering teachers the unique experience of using music as a springboard for learning and collaborating with teaching artists in the classroom.

Annual Education Concert

Every year, the Westchester Philharmonic invites elementary school students in grades 3-6 to experience a professional symphony orchestra in a real concert hall. Working from the podium, the conductor introduces the instrument families of the orchestra, musical elements of tempo and dynamics, melody and harmony, and key aspects of compositional form.

The 2020 concert has been cancelled.

Philharmonic Alive!

Would you like to introduce your students to the instruments of the orchestra? Designed for students grades pre-K through 5th, our Philharmonic Alive! program brings the music to your classroom! We offer five workshops led by professional teaching artists who introduce students to different instrument families of the orchestra and music from around the world in a fun and interactive way.
