The String Thing

Westchester Philharmonic's Award-Winning
Education Program for Grades Pre K-5

The String Thing introduces the violin, viola, cello and bass through classical, jazz and bluegrass music. The musicians lead discussions on the roles of the instruments in the string section, the variety of sounds that may be produced, and the great rewards of performing music. The group also encourages student participation through singing, conducting and reflection.
